The choice

Movement first. Detail always.

A curtain track guides drapery on carriers inside a channel. The track may be deliberately visible as a decorative element or selected for dependable operation where a simpler profile is preferred.

Unlike a rod with rings, the carriers do not need to pass over exposed brackets. The right system depends on where it can be mounted, how the panels will stack, the drapery heading, and how often the window treatment will move. Our track-versus-rod guide explains the distinction.

Specify the track around the installation

Metro Track is a wall-mount-only system. It should not be specified as a ceiling-mounted track. Contract Track is a family of profiles with wall and ceiling configurations, with the available method depending on the selected profile and project conditions.

Heading and operation

Wave-style and pinch-pleat drapery require different carrier spacing and fabrication details. Operation can also vary by system, so confirm whether the project calls for hand draw, cord draw, or another configuration before ordering. Read about wave fold and Ripplefold and pinch-pleat drapery.

Details to measure and review

  • Overall track length, opening width, and any return or corner.
  • Wall or ceiling substrate, bracket positions, and projection from the wall.
  • Draw direction, overlap, stack space, and obstructions.
  • Drapery heading, finished panel weight, and intended operation.
