What to consider before choosing a rod
Look at the pole diameter and finish in relation to the window and surrounding materials. A larger wood profile will read differently from a compact metal pole. Rings and finials also change the visual rhythm, especially when the drapery is stacked open.
Fabric, heading, and movement
Confirm how the drapery heading connects to the rings, how much fullness is planned, and how easily the panel should move. A pinch-pleat heading can work with appropriate hooks and rings. For a continuous wave-style heading, review the compatible system before fabrication.
Brackets, projection, and span
Bracket positions, center supports, wall projection, returns, and obstructions affect both appearance and operation. A ring cannot travel through a standard support bracket, so a long span may need a different draw arrangement or a traverse system. Our measuring guide covers the dimensions to collect.
